First time Mick Jagger, Keith Richards Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts performed under the band name playing The Marquee Club in London on July 12, 1962. They took a name from a song by bluesman Muddy Waters, they were billed as “The Rollin’ Stones” —the ‘g’ came later.
